Major Leaders in Abolition/Emancipation reform/their accomplishments

-David Walker: advised blacks to fight for freedom. Published Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World in 1829
-Frederick Douglass: taught to read and write by slaveowners wife. Escaped slavery and began writing in the newspaper The Liberator, and got his own anti-slavery newspaper called The North Star
Nat Turner: skilled preacher who believed he was supposed to lead blacks into freedom. Led 80 slaves on a revolt and attacked four plantations while killing 60 white people before being captured
