-Achilles saw the ghost of Patroclus
- Patroclus asked the for the proper burial so he could go to the land of the dead
- They lit the fire, and the next day the games started, which included chariot racing, boxing and wrestling and spear fights
-in the chariot racing, Diomedes won first, then came Antilochus, then Menelaus, then Meriones, finally came Eumelus whose chariot broke down and he had to pull it
-in wrestling, Epies and Euryalus faced off, and Epies won
- finally came the spear fight, where Ajax faced Odysseus
- they tied and split the prize
- after that came the feast
- after the games Achilles dragged Hector's body around for 12 nights, which displeased the gods
