Reaching the Top
Chill out!
When the Aryans moved into the Indus River Valley, they left behind nomadic life and started to farm. In addition to cultivating crops, the people also took up other crafts. The Aryans learned how to make tools like axes and weapons out of iron.
The Aryans divided their society into ranked groups. The highest group was the Brahmins or priests, the second were Kshatriyas, after came the Vaisyas and fourth were non-Aryans in the Sudra group. Dalits were the lowest social class. These people were not even considered as part of the caste system.
The Aryan people were polytheistic and worshipped many gods. These gods and goddesses embodied several different natural forces. As Aryan life changed people started to become mystics. To find direct communication with divine forces, Aryans practiced meditation and yoga.
