Some things that soldiers did for fun included wrestling, boxing, baseball, and marbles.

Playing cards was the most common activity among the soldiers. Checkers were most common for the children. Common people did poetry for fun. The soldiers did write home in the spare time also

Religion and/or poetry were some of the things that the soldiers enjoy to do in their spare time.
