Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the sun, into chemical energy. Photosynthesis requires water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide. These compounds get synthesized and used by the plant for energy. Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplasts of plant cells.
Respiration occurs in the mitochondria of cells. The elements needed in respiration are oxygen and glucose of sugar.
The waste product of respiration is carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is toxic to humans so to get rid of it we breath it out. Plants then take in this carbon dioxide through their stomatas in their leaves into the chloroplasts to create energy through photosynthesis.
