An evergreen is a plant which retains its foliage in all seasons and are, as the name implies, green all year. The evergreens leafs will shed but it grows new ones in replacement.
A deciduous forest has trees that shed their leaves in the dry season, usually around fall and early winter. These trees are more seasonal ,being bare through winter and sprouting new, green leaves in spring. Chloroplasts in the leaf die causing it to loose its green coloring.
