South Carolina which had threatened to go out if Lincoln came in and they did. Four days after the election, South Carolina unanimously voted to secede and during the next six weeks, six other states of the lower South followed as well: Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. Four more would join them later, making the total to eleven. Which lead them to create a government known as the Confederate States of America and their president was Jefferson Davis.
