How i supported eleanor during our conference

My reading conference was the most active student teaching I've done so far in this classroom. I was able to teach her how I keep track of my thinking using post it notes. If she has a question about the text, she can refer back to it later with a friend or a teacher. I also had a chance to tell her that a dash is an example of a text feature that shows a break in a sentence. I felt confident in the way I explained this passage to her. The more opportunities children have to examine books alongside an adult who points out their features, the more comfortable they'll be handling books themselves. (Taberski, pg. 128).
