Book choice

I created a text set for Eleanor that could provoke thoughtful literacy instruction, empower independent thinking, engage her interest and enthusiasm as well as push her towards higher levels of thinking (Harvey & Goudvis, pg.207). We discussed strategies of how to pick a good book. After reading the back covers of all the books and some of the first few pages, she picked Henry and The Paper Route, by Beverly Cleary to read aloud.
