Monroe Doctrine- This meant there were no more European colonies in North and South America. The U.S. determined to enforce this and this also reinforced Washington's principle of isolationism. (Pic 1)

Era Of Good Feelings- There was less political fighting and nationalism increased. The North and South were still divided but everyone was proud to be American. (Pic 2)

Disarming, warm personality- According to people close to Monroe, he had a rare ability of putting men to ease by his courtesy. He was always relaxed and easy to get to know.
