Worcester vs Georgia- Cherokee tried adopting white culture. GA forced Cherokee off their land because of I.R.A. and gold. The case went to the Supreme Court and ruled in favor of Cherokee. Jackson refused to enforce ruling. The army forced Cherokee off their land and they had to march 800 miles. This was known as the "Trail of Tears." (Pic 1)

Nullification crisis- South Carolina passed the Nullification Act. Jackson got Congressional support to send in army to enforce tariff. The compromise ends crisis.

Death of the bank- Jackson vetoed the bank charter claiming it's "unconstitutional." Jackson moved all federal money to state banks and orders all federal land purchases to be made with gold. (Pic 2)

Tough- Jackson grew up in a poor family and he was orphaned at age 14. Also, he had little formal education. Despite all of those obstacles, Jackson was a self-made man and obviously had a successful life.
