French Twist

STeps:

1. Section hair from ear to ear (or a triangle at front hairline) separating front from back. Clip out of way

2. Back comb hair to help with anchoring.

3. Brush hair starting from one ear slightly up and off to one side, smoothing it out and holding tight with subordinate hand.

4. Place bobby pins starting at the bottom, center of the nape. Secure bobby pin vertically upward (open end closest to crown). Continue pinning up the center, hooking the next pin in with the tip of the previous pin, having the bobby pins slightly criss cross. Once you get to the crown, place one bobby pin in the reverse direction. (See photo 1 below)

5. To create twist, Place remaining hair in dominant hand about mid length (Palm facing you) and twist your hand so your palm is against the scalp. (See photo 2/3 below)

6. Hold the twist with your left hand as you use your righthand to place bobby pins down inside the center of the twist.

8. Add hair pins as necessary and spray the hair to secure style.

9. Style front portion of hair as necessary to achieve desired French twist look.

Chignon

Steps:

1. Section hair from ear to ear to separate the front of the hair from back, clip out of the way.

2. Brush hair into a smooth tight pony tail just under the occipital bone and secure.

3. Back comb the under side of the pony tail (a lot!!)

4. Rest pony tail in your palm lightly combing the top layer of the hair to smooth the hair (do not brush out the back combing!) flip the hair upward and place a bobby pin about 1" above the secured hair binder (see photo 4 below).

5. Take the tail end of the pony and drape it over the binder creating a "curl" and securing it on the opposite side, under the base of the pony tail.

6. To finish, fan out the sides of the chignon and secure with hair pins to hold in place.

.7. Style the front section of the hair as necessary to achieve the desired look of chignon. (See final product in photo 5)

Draping

Steps:

1. Section out hair about 2" from the hairline all around the head. ( see photo 6 below)

2. Fasten sectioned hair into a pony tail.

3. Take a 2" section from the center of the nape and pull upward, fastening the top with two criss-crossed bobby pins.

4. Continue step three until all sections are pinned up. You are able to arrange the front sections however you would like to achieve your desired look.

5. Once all the hair is pinned up, take the loose ends and place them where you choose to create the draping look you desire. (See finished style in photo 7 below)
