Homeostasis is the body's ability to maintain relatively stable conditions despite the continuous changes of the outside environment.

It indicates a dynamic state of equilibrium, or a balance, in which internal conditions vary only slightly and within narrow limits.

Homeostasis is important because it insures that blood levels of nutrients, heart activity, blood pressure, waste accumulation, and body temperature are controlled and at healthy levels and rates. Without this, our bodies would not be able to function properly.

What is HOMEOSTASIS? Why is it important?
