Why are CHEMICAL REACTIONS often IRREVERSIBLE?
Chemical reactions release energy going in one direction.
In order to reverse, energy is needed to be put back in to the system.
Because the energy is often needed in different places, the reactions will not reverse.
Also, if a product is continually removed from the reaction site, it is not available to be part of the reverse reaction.
