PLASMA MEMBRANE and ACTIVE/PASSIVE TRANSPORT
Simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion, and osmosis are all forms of passive transport. There is no energy input in passive, while active transport requires ATP to occur. Passive transport involves molecules and ions which usually diffuse out of or in to cells. The molecules and ions use the plasma membrane. In active transport, large molecules that can't diffuse are transported in and out of the cell with transport proteins.
