Women were often shut out of importing movements by disapproving men. So they expanded their efforts to earn equal rights for themselves. Sarah and Angelina Grimké spoke very intelligent for abolition. They wanted to overthrow the horrible system of oppression and cruelty. They gathered money, distributed literature and collected signatures for petitions or congress.
