Major leaders in Abolition/ Emancipation reform and
Accomplishments
The biggest leader in abolition was William Lloyd Garrison. He wrote his own paper the Liberator in 1831. The point of this paper was to deliver the massage immediate emancipation or the freeing of slaves, with no payment to slave holders. He also founded the New England Anti-Slavery Society in 1832 and then the national American Anti-Slavery Society.
