Pro- Slavery Arguments

Some people used the bible to defend slavery. Slave owners in the south argued that slavery actually benefited blacks by making them part of the Christian civilization. Even ministers changed to accept slavery during this time. Southerners did not see slavery as bad because they looked after and cared for the slave their entire life.
