Education for Women
Many American women did not have an adulation after the elementary level. There were not many schools open for women at the time. African-American women faced an even bigger obstacle of getting educated. Quaker Prudence Crandall opened a school for girls in Canterbury, Connecticut. After two years African - American girls were allowed into the school. The town protested against the African American girl and the school was soon shut sown.
