Audio feedback from a vocalist or from
a musical instrument / amp in the band.
A feedback loop occurs because of a reverberation of sound that travels through the full circuit of parts within the audio equipment continuously.

Solution:
The simplest method of ridding yourself of feedback is to prevent it from occurring by positioning input and output equipment so that they don’t create the loop. (Example: A mic within the output range of a speaker.) Beyond this lowering the gain and eliminating the EQ that is in the range of the feedback can also help.
