Common Characteristics to all Members of the Animal Kingdom
The Animal Kingdom contains a wide-range of organisms which share common properties. All animal are made up of highly organized eukaryotic cells. Animals are also multicellular and have various tissues and organs systems that are needed for survival. Animals undergo aerobic metabolism to break down food and acquire ATP. Animals for the most part are capable of movement and undergo sexual reproduction. Most animals were aquatic, however over evolutionary time several animal groups adapted to and colonized the land masses.
Animals acquire energy by eating.
