William Lloyd Garrison
-he was the most radical white abolitionist
- he was very active in religious reform in Massachusetts
- he created a newspaper called "The Liberator" which delivered the message for immediate emancipation
Frederick Douglass
- he was taught to read and write by his owners wife
- knew that with more studying and hard work he could become free
- He became close friends with Garrison hoping they could work together to speak and teach about this issue
-he later broke away from Garrison and created his own paper called "The North Star"
