THREE MAJOR REGIONS OF A GENERALIZED CELL
The Plasma Membrane:
Membrane, composed of phospholipids, cholesterol, and proteins that encloses cell contents; outer limiting cell membrane. it separates two of the body's major fluid compartments- the intracellular fluid within cells and the extracellular fluid outside cells.
The Cytoplasm:
The cellular material surrounding the nucleus and enclosed by the plasma membrane.
The Nucleus:
Control center of a cell; contains genetic material; clusters of nerve cell bodies I the CNS.
