Conclusion- What I learned
I learned many things in this chapter. The life of the people of ancient India is so interesting to learn about and discover how they live. I now known that you don't always have to have a fierce ruler in order to lead a great empire, as evidence when Asoka the Great led the Maurya empire. I also went I depth into the caste system and how it shapes and decides even the people you marry. I was also surprised to find that technology in the Indus River Valley was very advanced for 4,000 years ago. They had sewer lines, patterned streets, and even gardens to look upon. The two cities Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa had many accomplishments and left most of the artifacts of that time. In the Aryan age, one of the big achievements was of the Vedas which is the sacred text for Hinduism and contains stories which tell of the people. The Maurya empire had many great leaders and ended up effecting future dynasties. When India ended up being united for the first time, it stayed that way. Finally, we have the Gupta dynasty which is the most successful empire in Ancient Indian history. It has too many contributions to name and was still a wonderful, comfortable places to be.
