In 1848 Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott decided to hold a women's convention. Stanton and Mott composed an agenda and detailed statement of grievances. 300 women and men gathered at the Wesleyan Methodist Church for the convention. They would help approve all of the parts of the declaration unanimously. They would try and make all issues equal to both men and women.
