Abraham Ljncoln was one of the most important leaders during the civil war. Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the U.S and he led the United States during the civil war. He helped the government become better compared to how terrible it was before. He abolished slavery and he fought for slave's rights. Lincoln also was very smart when he was young and he became a successful lawyer. Lincoln became a leader because he was elected president. He became involved in a lot of democratic issues and he was mostly successful in them. Abraham made a impact on the economy and made it so much better for the citizens. One of Lincoln's strength is that he had a clear vision of what he wanted as president. He knew what he had to do and he did it by saving the Union first. Lincoln had a lot of good personality towards his people. He had confidence in what he was doing and he knew it was better for everyone. His weaknesses were that he made stupid people his generals. The generals he chose were really stupid and couldn't conduct an army that well. Lincoln had so much stress on his shoulders he had a lot of stress and depression. If something didn't work out, Lincoln would be so depressed and stressed about it which wasn't good. Abe fought in the Black Hawk War when he was young. Abraham Lincoln was most known for the civil war he led. He was the leader for the Union Army.
Ulysses s. Grant was also a very important person during the civil war. He was a leader of the union army for president Abraham Lincoln. Ulysses was one of the best of the best for Lincoln. Ulysses didn't like being defeated and he would do whatever it took to win which was a good mindset for war. Ulysses was stubborn so Lincoln chose him to be leader over the army. Grant's strength is that he was stubborn in a good way and he didn't have space to lose. He was the type to win the battle, not surrender or lose it. Although Ulysses looked like he was a strong battle fighter, he had problems within family too. He had a drinking problem and he was also depressed like Lincoln. So much stress was poured out both of them they were both stressed and depressed. Ulysses fought in the battle of Vicksburg. Grant led the union army in the battle of Vicksburg and they won. Ulysses failed at mostly everything he tried in life but when he tried to be a soldier d as a leader made up for everything else. Grant was trained at the Military Academy at West Point, New York. In the Mexican American war grant was chosen as a lucite ant during that war.
