Why did they fight?
The north thought the federal government was ok and that it was fine. The south on the other hand wanted more power for the states.
The north wanted more freedom for the slaves. They felt that the slaves weren't necessary and that the slave owners were being really unfair. The south wanted to keep the slaves because they got the work done and they could have someone to boss around. Slaves were just more comfortable for the south and more easier to work with.
The slavery issue was really big during the civil war. It caused a lot of problems between the federal and state. The reasons the civil war started was solely focused on the issue of slavery. The southerners hated the governmentsnd thought that it was totally unfair and the north didn't mind the government because they wanted power. The north was against slavery and they did everything in their power to abolish it.
