Education in Texas was racial just like any other. There were seperate schools for the children that were black and the ones that were white. In Kansas, the board of education had power and of course they were showing favoritism to the white children. They still weren't fair to the black children and they also had seperate schools. In Alabama they also had different schools for different races. They said that other children of different color weren't allowed to attend other schools of different color. The white childrens' school was open to all white children over six years of age. The colored schools were for the colored kids over six years of age. In Virginia their rule was that colored and white kids weren't allowed to be taught in the same school. In Tennessee their law is that the extra taxes they get goes to schools. White and black kids can't be named scholars in the same school. The school board separates the black and the whites and the white children get a higher education.
