C.J Walker was born in Louisiana on a cotton plantation. She was the first black woman to ever become a millionaire. She had struggles in her life such as being an orphan when she was only 7 years old. She was determined, later on, to start her own line of hair care products, she started off little by little with the help of her husband and friends too. Her husband and her got divorced but Walker kept the last name. Afterwards, her business started to become bigger and bigger and then it became a huge success. Soon the company had a lot of money rolling in, Walker because a self-raised millionaire.
