Abraham Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery and save the Union but the Republicans were against it. Republicans were falsely accusing him on having a wrong motive. If Lincoln wanted emancipation at the start of war then Missouri, Kentucky, and maybe Maryland would have gone over to the south. The Ku Klux Klan was made in 1865-1866 in Pulaski, Tennessee made by 6 Confederate veterans. The Klan is a terrorist group of people that kills black people because they disliked them. To hide their identity, they wore disguises consisting of a white mask and a tall, pointy hat. The Enforcement Act was a criminal code that protected black people's rights to vote, hold a position in office, serve on juries, and receive equal protection of the law. The people were too afraid to go against the Ku Klux Klan so nothing really happened. The Civil Rights Act declared that all people get equal rights and enjoy what other people get to enjoy such as freedom. They act was declared that the courts were getting serious about it.
