Drop 1 and 2 and cut one length
Drop 3 and 4 cut if it reaches the perimeter either one length or graduated
Drop 5 and 6 cut to perimeter if it reaches
Create safety section, cut front perimeter and create a side angle.
Create an ear to ear part
On the top of the head create a 1" vertical subsection from the front hairline to the parting.
Take 1/2" from each side of the middle, stand on clients right.
Hold subsection at 90 deg. Drop all but a little of the safety section, which will be your guide and cut to it with a backward flowing angle, this will create your interior guide.
To layer the front, stand on clients left as you will be layering hair on the right.
Always stand on the guide side.
Pick up the 1" section you just cut, and bring a 1" subsection keeping elevation of the original guide.
Continue taking subsections until no more hair reaches the guide.
Stand on the right and repeat for the left side.
Keep the ear to ear parting
Section some of front guide hair and create a 1" subsection guide in the back.
Cut a backward flowing angle from the front guide to create a guide in the back.
Always standing on the guide side layer the back section.
Cross check the hair using horizontal subsections, checking for hair that stands away from the line you're creating.
