Graduated Technique

Section into 6 basic sections

Drop section 1 and 2, comb into gravity with fine teeth, secure with spine of comb against client, hold comb and scissors parallel to parting. 

Cut from center to right and center to left, check balance.

Drop 3 and 4 and create a 1" subsection and clip away the rest.

Determine elevation by placing comb at the parting of subsection, hold in place, bring hair from subsection and part of the guide to correct elevation.

Hold hair T to the subsection, recheck elevation with comb.

Use primary scissors position to cut. Work from center to right and then center to left.

No guideline at the ear, hold hair at 0 degrees with light tension with the wide teeth. Check balance

Drop 5 and 6, with wide teeth distribute hair fanned out over crown.

Continue cutting sections using comb elevation, elevation can vary greatly. 

Use smaller subsections to transition hair  from side to top
