Major Leaders in Women's Education/their accomplishments
The major leaders in women's education were Emma Willard and Mary Lyon. In 1821 Emma Willard opened one of the nations first schools the highly educated women in Troy, New York. Mary Lyon in 1837 opened another school in Massachusetts so women could go get a higher education.
