The Temperance Movement
The temperance movement was to help ban alcohol. Even though alcohol was used widely throughout the United States many still people thought it to be dangerous. Alcohol started to be questioned publicly in1825 and a year later the American Temperance Society was formed. They held rallies and made little pamphlets o spread the word of declining the use of alcohol.
