Major Leaders in Temperance Movement/ their accomplishments
The leader of the temperance movement was Lyman Beecher. He was a really big minister in Connecticut. He began giving his lectures on the dangers of alcohol in 1825. No long after, about a year later the American Temperance Society was founded and by 1833 6,000 temperance societies were noted across the country.
