Equipment:
At one point runners wore a garment around their waist, later on they wore nothing. There was one exception, it was an armor race, were the runner could carry a shield, helmet, and shin plate. Another bit of equipment was a hyplex, this ensured everyone started at the same time.

All competitors were to start at the same, under command or they will get disqualified and beaten.

Types of Races

1 stade= 200m RACE

Diaulos= 2 stade= 400m RACE
--------------------------------------------------
Dolichos, or (long race)= 7-24 stades= 1,400-1,800m
--------------------------------------------------

• No knocking
• No holding them
• No bribery or magic spells
