Equipment:
The only equipment athletes wore was foot wear.
In the Ancient Greek Olympics long jump was the hardest event because of the timing and coordination, sometimes the jumpers had to have a flute player accompany him. The sound of the rhythm and music helped them executed the jump properly.
The run up needed to achieve great speed. The power was most important, for a good spring. Coordination was essential because being able to synchronzide, kick, swinging arms and weights (halter) getting thrown into the air.
