Javelin was part of everyday life, from hunting to war.
The athletes in Ancient Greece Olympics attached a thong (a leather loop) to the javelin, they put it on the javelin were it helped them get the most power from. When the javelin was thrown, their fingers released.
The javelin had to have rotating motion, so it could stabilise the javelin as it went though the air
Good javelin throwers need to have a steady eye, strong hand, and flexibility.
Javelin is a sport in the penthalon.
