Ancient Greek Food
In Greece they ate grains, wheat, barley, fruit, vegetables, bread and cake.
In Ancient Greece the people grew olives and grapes to make wine. They also grew figs and wheat. The goats were kept for cheese and milk. In summer they ate fresh fruits and vegetables, while in winter they ate dried fruit and stored food like apples. The Greeks also ate fish, squid and shellfish they ate this because they lived very close to the ocean. Greeks thought killing animals for food was wrong so they rarely ate meat. Wine was common in Ancient Greece and is well loved.
