One Length Technique
You will need cutting shears, duck bill clips, spray bottle, and comb. You will put your guest in a wet drape to shampoo and condition and then into a dry drape.
Step One: Comb through the hair. Make your six basic sections. Let down sections one and two. Spray with water to keep the hair evenly moist. Comb the hair straight and into gravity with maximum tension.
Step Two: Starting at the center of the nape, use the spine of the comb to secure a portion of the section against the nape of the neck. Continue with the rest of section one and two. Cut an even horizontal line. Check for balance. This will be your guide.
Step Three: Let down sections three and four. Comb into gravity and cut to the guide. Check for balance. Repeat with sections five and six.
Step Four: Use less tension around the ears and cut into gravity.
Step Five: Decide if face framing is necessary.
