Jean Louise “Scout” Finch- Jem's little sister, (4 years younger ), smart, a tomboy, strong in her beliefs, not afraid to speak up, competitive, friendly, and gets involved in occasional fights, loves to read
Jeremy Atticus “Jem” Finch- Scout’s sister, (4 years older), sometimes irresponsible, daring, loves playing games, typical American boy, and is usually up for anything
Atticus Finch- the father of Scout and Jem Finch, a well respected man in Maycomb, a popular lawyer, a widower, a great father who has taught his kids the difference between good and bad, well-mannered, intelligent, a simple, great man
Arthur “Boo” Radley- a white boy who was born into a respected family (The Radleys), joined a gang when he was younger, took on a bad reputation, never comes out of the house, has a legend surrounding him, some think he is dead and is a ghost, looked at as mean and scary, a monster
Calpurnia- the cook for the Finch family, raises the kids as if she was their mother
Miss Caroline- the teacher of Scout in kindergarten, young, and sometimes mean to Scout
Miss Maudie Atkinson- the neighbor of the Finches, grows to be good friends with the kids
Miss Dubose- the cranky other neighbor to the Finches, but Jem starts to read to her, and changes his opinion
Mr. Heck Tate- the sheriff of Maycomb
Tom Robinson- a black man accused of raping Mayella Ewell
Mayella Ewell- the daughter of Bob Ewell
Bob Ewell- a drunkard and abuses his daughter
Miss Stephanie- a gossiper of Maycomb
Aunt Alexandra- socialite aunt of Scout and Jem
Uncle Jack- Atticus' brother
Mr. Dolphus Raymond- assumed drunkard, hangs out with black people all the time
Helen Robinson- Tom's wife
