1. What is Mayella afraid of when she first gets on the witness stand?

-She is afraid of Mr. Finch, she doesn’t want him to treat her like he treated her father.

2. What areas does Atticus cover in the beginning of his questioning?

-Atticus said he wanted to start out by just getting acquainted with her. He covered areas like age, schooling, family, friends, and her relationship with her father, Mr. Ewell.

3. What is Mayella’s version of the events?

-She claims that one day she asked Tom to bust up her chiffarobe, and she asked him to come inside to do it. As Mayella turned around from getting a nickel for him, he was already on top of her. Tom cussed,took advantage of her, and choked her and she screamed, hollered, and kicked. Also, Mayella had never asked him in the house before. Then, her father came and Tom ran away.

4. What is wrong with Tom's arm?

-His left arm was 12 inches shorter than his right and his left hand was shriveled. This was the case because his left arm got stuck in cotton gin when he was younger.

5. Who does Atticus suggest beat Mayella?

-Mr. Bob Ewell, her father.
