Chapter 10

1. In what ways is Atticus different from the fathers of Scout’s and Jem’s friends?

-Atticus is pretty old and feeble so he can’t play sports and do other physical activities like the other fathers.

2. What does Atticus tell Jem about shooting mockingbirds?

Atticus says it is a sin to kill a mockingbird.

3. What does Miss Maudie say about mockingbirds?

-She agrees with Atticus, it is a sin to kill one because they don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, nest in corncribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for people.

4. Who shoots Tim Johnson?

Atticus Finch.

5. How does Jem react to that?

-He was so excited to find out that his dad has a talent that has to do with something sporty or physical. Atticus was the best shot in town.
