1. What does Jem tell Scout about his pants?

-They were folded on the fence and they’d been sewed up like they were brand new. 

2. What is Scout’s initial reaction to finding the soap carvings?

-She shrieked and threw them down. Scout didn’t like them, she thought it was voodoo.

3. What is Jem’s reaction?

-Jem was mesmerized by them and how they looked exactly like him and Scout. He thought they were very intricate and special and he wanted to keep them.

4. Why are they unable to fulfill their plans?

-They could not send a letter to the person giving them these things because the hole they were going to put it in was filled with cement.

5. How does Jem react to Nathan Radley’s actions?

-Jem was unpleased with his actions because he found out that he lied about the tree dying. He was very sad and even cried because he had probably figured out that someone, maybe even Boo, was trying to communicate with them.
