The Women's Rights Movement/Seneca Falls
Stanton and Lucretia Mott held the Seneca Falls Convention in New York. They modeled a schedule and a "detailed statement of grievances. "Stanton carefully modeled this 'Declaration of Sentiments'" that was placed onto the Declaration of Independence. She wrote that men and women are of both equal rights and that they should be treated the same. At the convention, women gained the right to "participate in all public issues." Only one exception was announced; women were not able to vote.
