Education Reform
Many individuals wanted to reform, but saw a different way to traditional religion which sought revivalism too open and public to express people's religious beliefs. The transcendentalists made a literary movement that pushed forward the ideas of self-reliance, freedom, optimism. The Unitarians sought the same as Revivalists, who thought that individual and social reform were necessary and able to be accomplished.
