A man named Lyman Beecher, one of the Connecticut ministers, began making speeches against alcohol and wanted to ban all use of alcohol in the year of 1825.

After 1825, the American Temperance Society was made to protest alcohol all around the United States of America.

Lyman Beecher tried to put a stop to the use of alcohol in the years of 1825, 1826, and onwards.
