EFW = Education for Woman

Most girls until the 1820s did not attend school after elementary school.

Woman like Willard, Lyon, and Grimké opened schools for girls to learn and get a better education to benefit in their lives. Private schools started opening up just for woman, and eventually a girls school just for African Americans.

Woman are starting to move up in society and get a better education to succeed in life, instead of staying at home and taking care of everybody.
