Abolition/Emancipation Reform

Information
Even though slavery was still around and African Americans barely had any rights, they still considered it their home.
William Garrison created an Anti-Slavery Society group in 1832 and than a Nationwide group called the American Anti-Slavery Society.
David Walker wrote a book (published in 1829) that advised African Americans to fight for their freedom rather than wait until slavery was ended. It was called "Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World."
In 1850, approximately 434,000 slaves were free.
