Kinetic Energy- "energy in action" present in moving particles.
Potential Energy- "stored energy" Energy that is able to do work, but isn't doing any at the time.
Chemical Energy- stored in the bonds of chemical substances. Food converts to ATP to store energy in the body until the bonds are broken and energy is released.
Electrical Energy- comes from the movement of charged particles. Nervous system uses nerve impulses (electrical currents) to transmit messages within the body.
Mechanical Energy- directly involved in moving matter
Radiant Energy- travels in waves (different wave lengths)
Electromagnetic Energy- part of the electromagnetic spectrum (visible light, infrared waves, radio waves, UV waves and x-rays)
